Privacy Policy
Effective date: 12 October 2026 · Last updated: 12 October 2026
This policy explains how The Stack Explained (Instagram account @thestackexplained) and its Meta app theStackExplained (App ID 2073142690009296), a product of REVERONIX TECH SOLUTIONS PRIVATE LIMITED (“we”, “us”), handle information when you interact with our Instagram posts.
1. What the app does
The app publishes our own educational posts to our Instagram account and offers an optional “comment-to-DM” feature: if you comment the keyword NOTES on one of our posts, we send you a single private Instagram message with a link to that topic’s free PDF guide. The app does not access any account other than our own business account and the comments made on our own posts.
2. Information we process
Only when you comment on one of our posts, we receive from Instagram through the Meta Graph API:
- your Instagram-scoped user ID (an ID specific to our app, not your login);
- your Instagram username;
- the text, ID and timestamp of your comment and the post it was made on.
We do not collect passwords, email addresses, phone numbers, location, contacts, followers, payment information or the content of other private messages. We do not use cookies or tracking on this website.
3. How we use it
This information is used solely to (a) detect that you requested the cheat sheet, (b) send you that one private reply, and (c) keep a record so that you are not messaged more than once per post. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, analytics about individuals, or any automated decision-making, and we never send you unsolicited messages.
4. Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone. The message itself is delivered by Meta Platforms through Instagram, subject to Instagram’s Privacy Policy. The guide itself is a public PDF on this website and contains no personal data.
5. Storage and retention
Records are kept in a private log on a server controlled by us and are not published. Each record is automatically deleted 90 days after it is created, or earlier on request (see below). Aggregate counts that contain no personal data (for example “3 cheat sheets sent today”) may be kept longer.
6. Your choices and rights
- Do not comment the keyword if you do not want a message.
- You can delete your comment on Instagram at any time.
- You can ask us to access or delete the information we hold about you; see our Data Deletion Instructions. We act on requests within 30 days, normally much sooner.
We process this information on the basis of your request (by commenting the keyword) and in line with applicable law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
7. Children
Our content is intended for students and professionals aged 13 and over, in line with Instagram’s terms. We do not knowingly process data of children under 13.
8. Security
Access tokens and logs are stored with restricted file permissions on our own systems and are never shared.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date.
